Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Randa Al-Minshawi, met with Omani Ambassador to Cairo Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi and a delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to explore opportunities for joint investment in urban development and real estate.
The Omani delegation included representatives from 20 leading real estate development companies seeking to learn about Egypt’s urban development experience and explore potential investment opportunities in the local market.
Al-Minshawi highlighted the wide range of investment opportunities available to Omani companies, particularly in new cities managed by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and coastal areas under the Tourism Development Authority. She stressed the importance of introducing Omani investors to available projects and the applicable regulatory frameworks to encourage long-term partnerships.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Rahbi expressed Oman’s interest in learning from Egypt’s experience in expanding urban development through the establishment of new cities and exploring joint development ventures across the real estate sector.
Following the bilateral meeting, officials from both countries held an expanded roundtable with the visiting Omani developers. The session included a presentation on Egypt’s urban development achievements in recent years, outlining investment mechanisms and available land plots across residential, commercial, administrative, tourism and entertainment sectors.
The Omani delegation, in turn, presented key projects in the sultanate, including Sultan Haitham City, the Al-Jabal Al-Ali development and the Sorouh initiative.
Both sides agreed to establish ongoing coordination mechanisms to facilitate information exchange and help advance cross-border investment and partnerships in the real estate sector.
