The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) signed on Thursday with Orange Egypt an agreement to obtain the 4G license.
The agreement was signed in Smart Village and is worth $484m.
In a press statement, NTRA said the signature included a license for default landline services at a value of $11.262m.
Orange Egypt had earlier refused to move towards obtaining the 4G license, attributing the decision to the high price of the license.

The frequencies for the 4G services given to the company increased to 10 MHz, instead of 7.5 MHz, according to an official at Orange Egypt.
