Egypt’s Embassy in London organised a webinar, on Wednesday, gathering British hydrologists and African affairs experts to discuss the Ethiopian Dam dispute. The webinar reviewed Egypt’s efforts to reach a fair agreement on the Ethiopian Dam, highlighting the dangers of failing to reach consensus on the filling and operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia are scheduled to hold a meeting on 19 November to discuss the disagreement points regarding the filling and operating of the dam.

On Tuesday, Egypt’s Higher Committee for Nile Water convened to discuss the latest developments regarding the GERD.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, and Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aaty, as well as representatives from the General Intelligence Service (GIS).

The current round of meetings over the mega Blue Nile dam comes upon the outcomes of the ministerial meeting on 16 August between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Water from the three countries, and the outcomes of the 21 July mini-summit that gathered leaders of the three parties and South Africa, the current chair of the African Union (AU).
