Egypt’s Minister of Education Tarek Shawky announced, on Saturday, that high school students will take a demo exam on the ministry’s new electronic system on 15 December.

Shawky added, in a press statement, that the demo exam aims to help students best prepare for the new electronic exam methods that will be applied officially at the end of the current academic year.

The Education Ministry has previously announced that high school exams will be electronic starting academic year 2020-2021.

The exams will be open book as students will be allowed to consult reference materials. As for students taking their exams in hospital or prison, the matter is still under discussion and the final decision will be announced soon.

The ministry confirmed that the final exam for high school students in the academic year 2020-2021 will be held in June 2021. The Ministry has also allowed students to repeat the final exam up to three times to improve their grades in August.
