SAIB Bank, in cooperation with Sonaa El Kheir Foundation for Development, a member of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, has delivered 50 fishing boats to small-scale fishermen in Kafr El-Sheikh.

The initiative is part of “Marakeb El Rezk” (Boats of Livelihood), which aims to support fishermen, help them develop their trade and provide sustainable sources of income for themselves and their families.

The bank’s participation comes under its “Khotwa Le Oddam” (A Step Forward) initiative, launched to strengthen its efforts in economic empowerment and community development.

Through this initiative, SAIB supports development projects designed to economically empower vulnerable groups, improve their living standards and create opportunities for them to become self-reliant and achieve stable, decent livelihoods.

The project involves providing modern fishing boats equipped with comprehensive fishing equipment, including fishing gear, nets and insulated fish storage boxes.

These resources are intended to enhance fishermen’s capabilities, enable them to carry out their work more efficiently and improve their economic returns.

The handover ceremony was attended by Afdel Naguib, CEO and Managing Director of SAIB Bank, and Ibrahim Abdel Kader, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, alongside several senior officials from the bank and the governorate.

During the visit, the Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh received SAIB Bank’s CEO and Managing Director at the governorate headquarters.

The two sides discussed the bank’s corporate social responsibility efforts and development initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, promoting economic empowerment and improving living standards.

Naguib also reviewed the bank’s main contributions to community and development initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to continued cooperation with Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate and civil society organisations to implement projects that deliver positive and sustainable benefits to local communities.

Naguib stressed that SAIB’s participation in the Boats of Livelihood initiative reflects its commitment to corporate social responsibility, particularly initiatives that empower individuals economically and strengthen their ability to become self-reliant.

He added that cooperation with Sonaa El Kheir Foundation for Development highlights the importance of partnerships between the banking sector and civil society organisations in implementing projects that have a positive and lasting impact on beneficiaries and their families.

Naguib explained that SAIB’s contribution includes providing and equipping 50 fishing boats, alongside the necessary support for fishermen.

The initiative seeks to empower fishermen economically by increasing their incomes and improving their living standards through sustainable livelihood opportunities.

It will also enable them to market their catch in local markets and create opportunities to employ additional workers in fishing activities, helping generate jobs and stimulate the local economy.
