CAIRO: Ahly starlet Amir Sayoud cited military services as an excuse behind his failure to report back on time from a short vacation in his homeland Algeria.
A club sanction was imminent for the 20-year-old playmaker, even so Ahly are set to look into his justification.
"He says he has a problem with the military, that’s why he’s been late," Ahly football director Hadi Khashaba told FilGoal.com.
"It seems as an unavoidable problem, so he could escape punishment if he proved it."
Sayoud, who hardly plays for Hossam Al-Badri’s side, has been reportedly linked with a move to Algerian JS Kabylie.
