Egyptian exports of chemicals and fertilisers to France rose to $333m during the first nine months of 2026, marking a 10.1% year-on-year increase from $302.5m during the same period in 2025.
The $30.5m increase places France seventh among the top ten international destinations for Egyptian chemical exports, reflecting its growing importance as a European market.
According to figures released by the Chemical and Fertilisers Export Council, total sector exports to the European Union reached $3.47bn during the January–September 2026 period, representing an overall increase of 16%.
Fertilisers topped the list of Egyptian products shipped to France, reaching $153m and accounting for approximately 46% of total sector exports to the French market.
Organic chemicals ranked second at $85.4m, followed by plastics and polymers at $37m, petrochemicals at $34m, and inorganic chemicals at $18m.
Additional shipments included inks, industrial paints, glass tableware, paper products, rubber, adhesives, and specialty chemicals, highlighting the diversity of Egypt’s exports across multiple manufacturing categories.
Khaled Abou El Makarem, Chairperson of the Chemical and Fertilisers Export Council, said the continued growth in exports demonstrated the strong competitiveness of Egyptian producers and their ability to meet the requirements of European markets.
He emphasised that the council prioritises expanding the presence of Egyptian products across EU markets by helping local companies meet international standards, connect with distributors, and participate in specialised trade events.
To sustain this momentum, the council is organising a trade mission to France from February 1 to 6, 2027. The mission will include business-to-business meetings and market studies aimed at helping Egyptian manufacturers establish sustainable partnerships and increase their market share in Europe.
