President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has met with 12 newly appointed ambassadors for Egypt at the presidential palace on Saturday, according to the president’s office.

The countries are Thailand, Zimbabwe, New Zealand, South Korea, the Central African Republic, the US, Kenya, Ghana, Austria, Malta, the Czech Republic, and Montenegro, of which all except for the Montenegro diplomat reside in Egypt.

“The president seeks to foster the bilateral relations with those countries and wishes their ambassadors a successful mission,” Presidential Spokesperson Alaa Yousef said in the statement.

The diplomats submitted their registration forms to the president last Sunday, in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

Robert Beecroft, the US diplomat was appointed on 18 December, following Thomas Goldberger and two other diplomats during 2014. Beecroft has previously served as a US ambassador in Iraq from 2012 until 2014, and previously in Jordan from 2008 to 2011.
