Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry — who is also the President-Designate of the upcoming UN Conference of Parties on Climate Change (COP27) — received on Tuesday a telephone call from Gerd Muller — Director-General of the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO).

During the call, Shoukry praised the level of continuous cooperation between Egypt and the organisation on all levels and in various topics of its work. This includes the UNIDO Climate Strategy, which is being discussed with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and represents an important step in the coordination of environmentally friendly policies and practices, especially in the industrial sectors.

Furthermore, the phone call touched upon means of cooperation between Egypt and UNIDO within the framework of the COP27, which will be hosted and chaired by Egypt in Sharm El-Sheikh this November.
