CAIRO: Ahly’s injury-prone striker Mohamed Fadl has been sidelined for six weeks after suffering another relapse with his calf problem.

The former Ismaili man missed the weekend’s league match with Masri after aggravating his calf injury in training.

The same injury also prevented him from featuring for Ahly in the Champions League clash at ZESCO United.

Fadl was expected to be fit for the Red Devils’ league game with Gouna Tuesday but he’s still struggling to reach full recovery.

"Fadl suffered a calf tear that requires a six-week rest," Ahly doctor Walid Abdul-Baki told FilGoal.com.

The 30-year-old has already missed many matches this season due to various injuries.

Ahly are already without first-choice hitman Emad Meteb, who will be back in training in a fortnight.

Meteb has been nursing a rib injury for weeks.
