Egypt claims 7 medals at 2nd day of African Swimming Championship

After winning six medals on the first day of the African Swimming Championship in South Africa from 16-22 October, the Egyptian swimming champions claimed another seven medals on the second day of events.

Marwan El-Amrawy won gold in the 800m men’s freestyle, finishing with a time of 8:13.07.

Egypt’s national team, comprising Rawan Al-Badry, Salem Ihab, Mahmoud Samy, and May Atef, finished the 4x100m mixed relay freestyle with a time of 3:43.01, and won a silver medal.

Mahmoud Samy finished the 100m men’s butterfly in 54.91, winning silver.

Ahmed Hamdy won silver in the 400m men’s medley, as he finished in 4:30.22.

After he finished with a time of 28.92, Ahmed Shamloul claimed silver in the 50m men’s breaststroke.

Rowida Hesham won bronze in the 200m women’s breaststroke with a time of 2:41.71.

Mariam Sakr also won bronze, completing the 50m women’s butterfly race in 29.42.
