Egyptian taekwondo champions bring home 2 silver medals

Egyptian taekwondo champions, Hedaya Malak and Seif Eissa, collected two silver medals at the 2016 WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

In the women’s under-57kg competition, Great Britain’s Jade Jones snatched the gold medal from Malak, who came in second place, winning silver. Bronze went to South Korea’s Ah-Reum Lee. Jones was awarded $6,000; Malak $3,000; and Lee $1,000.

Moving to the men’s under-80kg competition, Azerbaijan’s Milad Beigi Harchegani won gold, while Eissa won silver, and Russia’s Albert Gaun bronze. The three champions were awarded the same prize money as the female players.
