FCCI announces new programmes to double Egyptian agricultural exports to European market

President of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), Mahmoud Al-Qaisi, announced the launch of a series of new programmes to encourage Egyptians who work in agriculture and food processing to participation in the French exhibitions specialized in that field.

Al-Qaisi added that there are many opportunities that might promote the doubling of Egyptian agricultural products to the European market, appointing to the international report that estimate’s France’s expenditure on its imports of agricultural products with $9bn, while Egyptian products enjoy the quality required for the competition, according to a Wednesday press statement.

Al-Qaisi noted that Egypt’s exports to France recorded $40m annually, adding, “despite the modest volume of Egyptian exports, there are great opportunities to increase the figures.”

Al-Qaisi said that both countries’ leaderships encourage boosting trade relations to the highest levels, emphasizing the importance of bilateral trade missions.

Hassan Behnam, director general of the FCCI said that the SIAL exhibition, which is held in Paris, is one of the most important European exhibitions in the field of production and industrialization of agricultural products, whether fresh, processed, or frozen.

Behnam pointed out that participation in international exhibitions is the best way to develop Egyptian exports, where leading European business leaders are allowed to network with the Egyptian entrepreneurs, whether producers, exporters, or importers, adding, “SIAL offers the best opportunities to conduct business communicating and making deals.”
