Abdel Aal, Larcher discuss boosting Egyptian-French relations

Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal called on boosting Egyptian-French investments and tourism, during his meeting with French Senate President Gerard Larcher on Wednesday.

Abdel Aal said that Egypt aspires to host more French investments in the ‘promising’ Egyptian market, adding that Egypt is working on removing all obstacles to facilitate the work of French companies which are already operating in the country.

The Parliament Speaker, who is on his first visit to France, also called for the return of the flow of French tourism to Egypt to its usual levels, to take advantage of Egypt’s current climate of security, and stability.

The Egyptian official further reviewed the developments of the political and economic situation in Egypt, as well as regional issues.

On parliamentary relations, Abdel Aal discussed with Larcher ways of developing relations with the French Senate at all levels, pointing out the importance of intensifying mutual visits, joint activities, and coordination regarding international parliamentary forums.

Moreover, Abdel Aal stressed the depth of parliamentary relations between both countries, noting that these relations are based on “mutual respect and coordination on issues of common concern.”

Abdel Aal’s visit to France came in response to an invitation by Larcher, and marks the his first foreign visit, during the fourth legislative round that started last week.
