The company has a 100% operating interest in the 72 sq km Issaran Concession area, which contains the Issaran oil field, a significant heavy oil field with up to 1bn barrels in place, located on the west shore of the Gulf of Suez.

The company operates under a petroleum service agreement, in collaboration with the General Petroleum Company.

Noteworthy, Scimitar has been producing at Issaran since 1998. The company has a current production rate of 2,200 barrels of oil per day.
