Zoho, an Indian software development company, intends to expand its operations in Egypt, in light of the great progress made by the country in the development of its various economic sectors, including real estate, technology, and service, according to Ali Shabdar, Regional Director of Zoho for the Middle East and Africa.

Shabdar told Daily News Egypt that they believe that Egypt has strong opportunities to be a technology exporting country.

He added that Zoho’s operations are witnessing a steady growth in Egypt which enjoys great economic strength thanks to its distinguished geographical location. Cairo is witnessing an accelerated growth in terms of investments and development processes, which reinforces the importance of Egypt to Zoho.

Shabdar said, “We expect to achieve huge opportunities for growth due to the great interest in our technological solutions, and we are very optimistic about the Egyptian market. Most of Zoho customers are concentrated in Cairo, followed by Alexandria, where we are currently meeting the requirements of several thousand Egyptian companies, whose employees ranging between 7 to 100 individuals use our flagship solutions, including CRM and office applications.”

He pointed out that the novel coronavirus pandemic has slowed down the implementation pace of some of the company’s plans in the Egyptian market in terms of holding conferences and events, but in terms of offering programmes and technological solutions, the company has not witnessed any slowdown. On the contrary, Zoho has witnessed great demand, especially on office applications, productivity applications, and video conferencing and training programs, the demand for which in Egypt has grown 10 times since the start of the outbreak of the virus, as it allows remote work from anywhere.

The company is currently planning to build a distinguished work team and create local jobs in Egypt, either through Zoho itself or through partners, in addition to establishing partnerships with educational institutions and emerging companies, and cooperating with organisations in serving their customers.
