Germany’s Ambassador to Egypt Cyrill Nunn has arrived in Aswan on an official visit where he will discuss opportunities for German-Egyptian cooperation.

The ambassador met with Aswan Governor Ashraf Attia Abdel Bari, on Wednesday, to discuss the current economic and tourism developments in the governorate, and opportunities for German-Egyptian cooperation.

During his visit, which is set to cover several days, Nuun will pay great attention to Aswan Governorate’s great capabilities in energy technologies, which holds a promising future. He will visit the Benban Solar Power Plant, one of the largest solar energy stations in the world.

He affirmed that the plant enjoys advisory support as part of Germany’s development cooperation, and is a model for high-level and successful technical cooperation in the field of renewable energies.

The Ambassador’s visit also includes a meeting with the director of the Evangelical Mission Hospital in Aswan, which he visited during a previous visit to Aswan last year.

The hospital, which was established in 1913, receives great support from the German community in Egypt. It is also an important source of integrated medical care for people in the region, regardless of their social, cultural and religious affiliations.
