Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Chairman of Banque Misr Mohamed Al-Etreby witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the ministry and the bank to implement integration between the bank, Egypt’s digital platform, and the government’s digital converter.

The minister said that the banking sector is one of the most important sectors in the country. The importance of this protocol comes in achieving integration with this important sector to provide digital services to citizens with high efficiency to save time and effort.

It also comes within the framework of fruitful cooperation between the ministry and all sectors of the state to build a digital Egypt and transitioning to an integrated digital society. He explained that this cooperation between the ministry and Banque Misr will contribute to motivating citizens to use digital means and electronic payments as well as reinforce the state’s efforts to achieve financial inclusion.

For his part, Al-Etreby stressed that this cooperation stems from Banque Misr’s keenness on providing the best services and electronic payments and making them available as well as expanding the provision of digital services to customers with the aim of facilitating the payment process for Egyptian citizens.

This would contribute further to improving the provision of banking and financial services and achieve the goals of financial inclusion. He noted that Banque Misr launched the first digital bank in the Egyptian market in an effort to support digital transformation efforts by providing various electronic channels and solutions to customers.

The protocol includes providing and creating a link between Banque Misr and the Digital Egypt Platform that allows the provision of some services, including facilitating access for Banque Misr customers to Egypt’s digital services through a link on the bank’s mobile application and online banking services to redirect clients to the Digital Egypt Portal, where they can use all the services.

Registered clients also access the digital platform and click a link on the main page of the platform to redirect them to the mobile application and internet banking of Banque Misr.

The services provided by the Digital Egypt platform are also available through the API between the platform and Banque Misr on the mobile application and online banking services of the bank.

The bank also allows government services (G2G ) through an API digital link line with the platform after concluding a legal agreement with each governmental unit or affiliated ministry.

The cooperation protocol was signed by Khaled Al-Attar — the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Administrative Development, Digital Transformation, and Mechanisation — and Akef Al-Maghraby, the Vice Chairperson of Banque Misr.
