Daily News Egypt wins first prize in Lafarge Egypt’s “Article Writing Contest” competition

Lafarge Egypt, a member of Holcim Group, announced the winner of “Article Writing Contest” during the closing ceremony of Lafarge Egypt’s one-month training programme to journalists titled, “Human Rights in the Work Environment”. 

During the ceremony, the company awarded three journalists in its “Article-Writing Contest” on the topics highlighted during the programme.

Shaimaa Al-Aees, from Daily News Egypt, won the first prize for her article “Workplace moral harassment virus kills rights of human being in his work.”

The competition was conducted on criteria including innovation in human rights issues, journalism drafting and knowledge of issues and topics raised in training programmes as well as addressing problems that hinder human rights.

Lafarge Egypt has previously conducted a one-month  training programme on human rights in the work environment, touching on different topics; health and safety standards, rights related to environmental work conditions, human rights and good governance, women’s rights in the work environment, and child labor. 

Solomon Baumgartner Aviles, CEO and Chairperson of Lafarge Egypt, attended the event and handed the awards to the winners during the event, where he expressed his gratitude to the attendees who joined Lafarge Egypt to celebrate its unceasing efforts towards sustainability.
