It is one of the most important grants offered by the Samsung Innovation Campus by Samsung International and under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, with the aim of Qualifying students for the labour market by developing their professional skills and raising the level of competencies and technological skills.

Samsung International, in cooperation with Telecom Egypt and under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, designed and implemented a distinguished training program in the field of coding and programming and presented it to about 973 male and female students in the laboratories of WE Applied Technology Schools in the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Suez, Dakahleya, and Minya. The Minister of Communications said that the aim of establishing WE Schools of Applied Technology is to change the traditional stereotype about technical education, and to prepare a generation of technicians and technicians who understand the importance of knowledge, science and technology and are able to apply and adapt it.

He pointed out that the success of these schools in achieving their vision is the result of the fruitful cooperation between the Ministries of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministries of Education and Technical Education, Telecom Egypt, and the private sector.

Talaat added that the WE Schools of Applied Technology were established according to a vision that is in line with the determinants of the capacity-building strategy implemented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, namely; first: comprehensiveness, as there are currently 7 schools spread across the various governorates, second: specialization by honing students’ skills in the disciplines most in demand in the current and future labour market, and third: partnership with major international specialized companies to provide the latest technological programs, laboratories and equipment at the highest level, and fourth: The association of technical training with building personal capabilities, strengthening language skills, and hosting international companies for trainees to provide practical experiences.

WE Applied Technology School was launched in 2020 within the framework of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology strategy to build digital capabilities and its vision to prepare a generation of qualified technical workers with the highest standards of efficiency and quality, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education. The schools aim to link the theoretical educational process with the actual needs of the labour market, and provide practical training in laboratories and workshops equipped with the latest technological devices and technologies, as well as field training for students within the technical sites of Telecom Egypt and its subsidiaries in order to provide students with the technical skills required to prepare a professional technician who understands the culture of contemporary work and has the ability to engage in the labour market.
