FM Shoukry condoles Turkish and Syrian counterparts after deadly earthquake

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a call with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday to offer condolences to the government and people of Turkey for the victims of the terrible earthquake that hit Turkey and conveyed sincere wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured,

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the spokesman of the Ministry of foreign affairs, said that Minister Shoukry informed his Turkish counterpart that Egypt decided to direct urgent relief aid in solidarity with the Turkish state and the brotherly Turkish people in the face of the repercussions of that disaster, wishing the success of the ongoing rescue efforts.

Abu Zeid pointed out that the Turkish Foreign Minister received the call of Sameh Shoukry with appreciation and gratitude, expressing his country’s thanks for the solidarity shown by Egypt with Turkey in this terrible disaster.

On the other hand, Sameh Shoukry held on Monday a call with Faisal Mekdad, Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, to offer condolences to the victims of the deadly earthquake.

The Foreign Minister conveyed to his Syrian counterpart the decision of the Egyptian government to send urgent relief aid in solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic in the face of the consequences of that disaster. 

The Foreign Minister also expressed sincere wishes for the success of the ongoing rescue efforts and the speedy recovery of the injured.
