CAIRO: Zamalek lost 3-0 to Swiss side Neuchatel Xamax in their second pre-season friendly.
A brace from midfielder Carlos Varela and a goal from Sebastian Wuthrich sank the White Knights in Switzerland.
Zamalek, who thrashed a German amateur team in their first match, will also play against St. Gallen and Steaua Bucharest of Romania before returning to Cairo.
Hossam Hassan’s team will open their new league season against cup champions Harras Hodoud on day 1, scheduled for August 5.
