The National Salvation Front (NSF) condemned the deaths of 26 soldiers in North Sinai by an armed group and announced that “terrorism” is part of the “war” the Muslim Brotherhood declared on Egypt in a released statement on Tuesday.

They added that the current struggle is between people and “terrorism” that aims in tearing down the state and said that Egyptians are more unified today than ever as they stand by the army and police to achieve the revolution’s demands.

The statement said the NSF adheres with citizens and supports the police and army’s historical roles in combating “terrorism” and added that “terrorism” will not stop Egypt from pursing a democratic path.

The party also demanded commemorating police and army martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect people.

NSF denounced what they called “double standards” of the west that provided protection for “terrorism” and stressed that these efforts will not affect the process of balancing Egyptian foreign policy which includes diversifying sources of weapons and arms.

They also added that Egyptians reject foreign intervention and nothing will stand in the way of citizens’ executing independent decisions.

The NSF appreciated Saudi Arabia and UAE’s standing with Egypt against “terrorism”, in their statement, as well as Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain.

The statement concluded that the NSF will pursue a democratic path that complies with the agreed-upon road map in allowing citizens to choose their real representatives through elections.
