Two young brothers were riding a motorcycle before a policeman ordered them to stop for inspection. When the young men tried to escape, fearing their unlicensed motorcycle might be taken, the policeman shot them dead, according to state-run newspaper Al-Ahram.

Family members of the two brothers demonstrated in front of the morgue. Meanwhile, the prosecution has launched investigations and the policeman was taken into custody.

Witnesses and neighbours said Mohamed Saoudi, a military conscript, and Ahmed Saoudi, a high school student, tried to escape the checkpoint as their motorcycle was unlicensed, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper.
