Spanish club Sevilla FC defeated English club Liverpool FC, 3-1, in the 2015/2016 UEFA Europa League’s final match, which took place at the stadium of St. Jakob Park, located in the Swiss city of Basel.

This is the third consecutive year for Sevilla to win the league championship, and the fifth time for the Spanish club to win it altogether.

Liverpool led the match’s first half, where its player Daniel Sturridge scored the match’s first goal in the 35th minute, in favour of the English club.

Sevilla, on the other hand, became quite active in the match’s second half, where Sevilla’s French player, Kévin Gameiro, scored the Spanish club’s first goal during the 46th minute.

Sevilla’s second and third goals were scored by Jorge Andújar Moreno, known as Coke Andújar, or simply Coke, in the 64th and the 70th minute, respectively.

Liverpool’s German manager, Jürgen Norbert Klopp, requested that the third goal for Sevilla not be considered, claiming that it was an offside. However, the goal was not dismissed and the match ended 3-1, in favour of the Spanish club.
