Parliament Speaker Ali Abdul Aal referred two members of parliament to investigation for allegedly insulting the parliament and the speaker during Wednesday’s session.

According to news published on the parliament’s website, the decision followed a request submitted and signed by other MPs against the two members.

The investigations concern MPs Elhamy Agina and Samir Ghattas, the latter whom had previously been expelled from a session.

Other penalties have previously been applied on MPs elected by the end of 2015, such as the definitive expulsion of MP Tawfik Okasha, and the temporary suspension of MP Kamal Ahmed.

Moreover on Tuesday, two MPs lost their membership by a decision of the court, including well-known figure Ahmed Mortada Mansour. The court decided his rival had actually gotten more votes in the elections.
