Dollar records its highest level against Egyptian pound this week

The US dollar recorded on Thursday its highest level against the Egyptian pound this week at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and banks operating in the domestic market.

The official rate for the dollar at the CBE on Thursday registered EGP 15.5422 to buy and EGP 16.1351 to sell, compared to EGP 15.2954 for buying and EGP 15.9214 for selling on Wednesday.

Sunday saw the lowest recorded exchange rate for the dollar against the pound, registering EGP 15.1514 to buy. The lowest registered exchange rate to sell was EGP 15.8754 on Tuesday.

The dollar exchange rate varied between banks on Thursday and ranged from EGP 15.9 and EGP 16.25 to sell at most banks, up to more than 50 piasters in comparison to Wednesday.
