The National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) has accepted the technical offer made by the consortium “Taisei Corporation – Orascom Construction”.

According to a document from the NAT, the technical inspection committee has decided to accept the financial offer made in the tender by the aforementioned consortium to carry out the construction works of the first phase of the fourth Metro line, referring to financial offer opening procedures.

The Taisei Corporation – Orascom Construction offer was the only offer made for the tender in June.

Meanwhile, NAT has accepted the technical offer made by the Nippon Koei Group – Occidental Oriental Consult – ACE – EHAF consortium in the tender launched to choose supervisors for the implementation of the fourth metro line’s first phase.

The NAT decided to start taking official steps to open the financial bid in preparation for awarding the tender to the consortium if the offer is accepted. The NAT had launched a tender in October to choose an engineering supervisor for the first phase of the fourth metro line.

Societe Egyptienne D’entreprises, a subsidiary of the National Company for Construction and Development, previously known as Moukhtar Ibrahim, is working to implement the first part of the first phase for the metro’s fourth line, at a cost of EGP 38.6m. This phase includes converting the facilities conflicting with the first part of the first phase, which includes five stations, which are El Ashgar, El Ahram, El Nasr, El Mathaf, and El Remaya.
