SMEDA, EBRD graduate group of businesswomen from e-marketing strategies training programme

Supporting women's economic, social empowerment is important axis of SMEDA’s development strategy, says Gamea

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), celebrated the graduation of a new batch of businesswomen from a training programme on e-marketing strategies.

The e-marketing strategies training programme was carried out by SMEDA for 25 women, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of the concept of electronic marketing and its various aspects and marketing tools available online as a basis for any activities of small and medium enterprises.

The training programme included topics and practical applications with an explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of e-mail marketing and how to develop internet marketing plans.

For her part, Nevine Gamea, CEO of the SMEDA, said that supporting women’s economic and social empowerment is currently one of the most important axes of the institutional development strategy of the SMEDA as it seeks to train and qualify women to manage small projects that provide them and others with stable jobs and suitable incomes, contributing to raising their standard of living and improving the country’s economic development.

This came on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the e-marketing strategies training programme.

She added that the project Supporting Businesswomen is one of the projects of the Business Consultancy Services programme implemented by the SMEDA in cooperation with the EBRD, which aims to promote and support the concept of entrepreneurship for women in Egypt in order to support economic development.

“The programme works on several axes, including supporting women business leaders in obtaining non-financing business development services, as well as access to various funding entities,” Gamea explained.
