World Bank, Bavarian Auto Group discuss development of electric vehicles market in Egypt

Farid El Tobgui, Chairperson and Managing Director of Bavarian Auto Group, BMW and MINI dealerships in Egypt, met with representatives of the World Bank’s transport sector,  to discuss how to promote the market of electric vehicles in Egypt, on Thursday, along with Mohamed El Ghazaly Harb – BMW Marketing Manager.

The meeting reviewed the development of a complete strategy in coordination with all the competent authorities to boost this sector.

El Tobgui presented the group’s vision of the transformation of electric vehicles and reviewed their efforts in the preparations for launching the BMWi electric car project in Egypt this month.

“The global automotive industry is witnessing a technological revolution that we must prepare for and keep pace with. The Bavarian Auto Group has already started preparations since 2016 to be the first to enter this new age in Egypt,” he said.

BMW has a firm hand on the  European electric car market, as the company leads the way with 17% of the market share.

During the meeting El Ghazaly Harb reviewed with the World Bank representative, the steps that should be taken by the authorities, to boost the EV market.
