Mohamed Abd El-Wahab, Executive Director of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), met with Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, to discuss ways to enhance Bahraini investments in Egypt.

Abd El-Wahab said that Egypt is taking serious steps to facilitate its internal investment climate, pointing to GAFI’s keenness to attract further Bahraini investments in the country. This is being encouraged through the intensification of communications with major Bahraini companies interested in the available investment opportunities in areas of common interest.

He also said that importance is being given to developing an action plan to follow up on the situation of Bahraini companies operating in Egypt.

This will occur alongside the coordination with the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), to keep Bahrain’s business communities informed of the latest economic developments in Egypt.

For his part, Al-Jowder praised the close political and economic relations between the two countries, and highlighted the importance of increasing cooperation to meet their respective aspirations.

He also welcomed the invitation of a number of the most important investors in Bahrain to hold meetings with GAFI representatives to implement new investments.
