New Director appointed to Korean Cultural Center in Egypt

Sung-ho Oh has been appointed as the new Director for the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt.

Oh expressed his happiness at his appointment, and described Egypt as the cradle of human civilisations and cultures.

He said it was fortunate that he had come to Egypt in conjunction with the Lunar New Year celebration, and wished everyone a happy year filled with joy and happiness.

Oh expressed the hope that this year will see the end of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, so that the Korean Cultural Center can resume face-to-face educational and cultural activities in Egypt.

In the coming period, he noted, he will seek to strengthen the pace of cultural exchange between South Korea and Egypt, in an effort to enhance relations between the two countries.

Currently, the Korean Cultural Centre is offering many online cultural activities due to social distancing procedures. Last week, the Center broadcasted a series of videos on its YouTube channel, to celebrate the Korean Lunar New Year called “Seollal”.
