The Red Sea is the sea between Africa and Asia. It is the world’s most giant arm of the Indian Ocean.

It is called the “Red Sea” because of the red color of its water caused by algae and other microscopic organisms.

This is why it was also called Erythraean Sea (Erythrean) in ancient times, and sometimes Mare Rubrum (Latin for “Red Sea”).

The Red Sea has an area of about 1,400,000 square kilometers (540,000 sq mi). The coastline is approximately 2,300 km (1,400 mi) long. The Red Sea is connected to the Gulf of Aden by the Bab-el-Mandeb strait. It also connects to other seas via the Suez Canal and the Strait of Hormuz at its northern end.

It is considered a significant body of water because it connects to three other bodies of water: the Gulf of Aden, the Indian Ocean, and the Mediterranean Sea. The Red Sea has been called “the cradle” or “the crossroads” because it links Africa with Asia and Europe.

One of the biggest pulls to the Red Sea is filled with stunning species of fish – some that can’t be found anywhere else.

How many people visit the Red Sea?

The Red Sea is one of the world’s biggest tourist attractions, and one of the most popular for those who wish to scuba dive. The Red Sea is a glorious attraction, and most people who visit are looking for the best way to spend time in or on the water.

There’s more to see and do away from the shore. Although scuba diving remains the most popular activity, the Red Sea has recently become a popular windsurfing and kitesurfing destination.

Renting a Boat to Sail the Red Sea

One of the most exciting things you can do when you are on holiday in Egypt is rent a boat from Borrow a Boat and head out onto the stunning red waters. The Red Sea has a bad reputation, but it is pretty safe and a joy to sail on.

Renting a boat for the day offers one of the most peaceful ways to explore your vacation location. In recent years renting a boat and sailing has become more popular.  You can rent a boat or a yacht, or even a catamaran.

Here are just a few reasons you should be renting a boat on your next trip to any of the countries surrounding the Red Sea.

No Experience

If you want to take to the open seas, one of the most significant barriers is that most people can’t sail. However, if you rent a boat in your location, you can often choose to hire the skipper. This means you benefit from localized knowledge of the Red Sea and safely navigate the waters.

You don’t need any experience to have an incredible trip out on the Red Sea – all you’ll need is a few hours that you want to use to relax.

Affordable

If you have ever wanted to experience the finer things in life but been restricted by budget – renting a boat for the day is incredibly affordable. You get to enjoy all of the luxuries that a yacht offers but without the considerable cost of owning and maintaining the boat.

Many of us will happily rent a car or a moped while on vacation – renting a boat works the same way!

You can browse the website, choose the size of boat that is right for your party and what you wish to do  – and rent it.

Relaxation

When you are on vacation, you should be looking to maximize the amount of time you have to relax. As well as relaxation, fun should be a top priority. Renting a yacht for a few hours or a few days offers you both relaxation and fun.

Floating in the sea on a rented yacht is a unique experience and one that you won’t forget!

When you rent a boat, there are few things you can do; you can choose to float along and sit in the warmth of the sun, some people opt for a boat that supports fishing, and others wish to snorkel.

You’ll need to check the rules for the water you are in, but most often, you can enjoy any number of water-based activities while on your boat rental.

Exploration

Have you ever stood on a shoreline and gazed out onto the ocean and wondered what it looked like from the other side? The view from a yacht is incredible; watching the sunrise or sitting over the water as you spend time with friends or family is a fantastic feeling.

Next time you’re thinking about heading somewhere to enjoy the warm water incredible sights – consider sailing the Red Sea on a rental.
