The Egyptian coastal city Soma Bay, in partnership with The Cascades Golf Resort and Somabay Golf, hosted the Grand Final of the Strawberry Tour golf tournament for amateur players from 26 February to 1 March.

Total 87 golfers, who won regional tournaments across Europe, took part in the event aiming to win one of the 17 trophies offered to the winners at the grand final.

The tournament was followed by a magnificent Gala Night to distribute the prizes and mark the end of the Strawberry Tour.

Somabay Golf opened its signature 18-hole, par 72, Gary Player-designed golf course in 1998.

Having some of the best golf facilities in the region, Somabay Golf quickly became a world-class destination for golf lovers and rightfully earned Somabay worldwide acclaim as a recreational sports haven for golf enthusiasts. The superb golf facilities also include an immaculate 300-meter double-ended practice range and putting greens, a World Class Short Game Arena as well as the fully equipped Somabay Golf pro shop.

The Cascades Golf Resort, which has been hosting tournaments like this for over a decade, is centered at the heart of the Somabay Golf Course and offers a wide array of 5-Star services that can be expected from a luxury hotel, including a Thalasso Spa, where competitors had the chance to relax and unwind after the heat of competition.

Commenting on Somabay Golf Tournament 2022, Ibrahim El-Missiri, CEO of Abu Soma Touristic Development Company, said: “The Strawberry Golf Tournament is yet another success story and a sincere reflection of Somabay’s prime focus on sports. Somabay is always fully committed to hosting a variety of sports activities and diversified world-class tournaments.”

El-Missiri also added: “Somabay is proudly home to one of the most exquisite golf courses in the world, with stunning views along the Red Sea coastline.
