Egypt’s Minister of Endowments Mohamed Gomaa won the Award of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.

In an official letter from the Secretary of the Mediterranean Parliament, Sergio Piazzi, the Parliament announced choosing Gomaa to be awarded the 2022 prize, in appreciation of his efforts in spreading the culture of dialogue and peace.

On his part, Gomaa thanked the Mediterranean Parliament for this generous gesture, which is an appreciation for the role of the Egyptian state in spreading a culture of peace and dialogue.

Every year, the Assembly of the Mediterranean rewards an individual, organisation or institution from the political, economic, social, cultural, scientific, sport, journalism and artistic community, who contribute through their action to establish bridges among the peoples of the region so as to foster understanding, mutual respect, socio-economic cooperation, political dialogue, confidence building and conflict solution.

Earlier last March, the PAM honored during its sixteenth parliamentary session, in appreciation of his efforts and role in spreading and consolidating a culture of peace.

The PAM is an international organization, which plays a fundamental role to support the work of international bodies entrusted with the responsibility to foster security, stability and peace in the Mediterranean region.
