World Bank aims to improve developing countries competitiveness through innovation: Mohieldin

The World Bank Group enables developing countries to compete in the technology-dominated future economy through innovation, said Mahmoud Mohieldin, World Bank Group Senior Vice President for the 2030 Development Agenda, UN Relations and Partnerships.

Mohieldin statement came during the 12th Hawkamah Annual Conference held on Monday, in Dubai to discuss technological innovations in business and the challenges faced by companies in driving the shift because of technology utilization.

He explained that the World Bank Group aim  to develop a common approach between governments, citizens and development partners and the private sector.

Through achieving such goals, the development of the basic building blocks of sustainable economies led by technology, expanding the capacity of individuals and institutions to thrive in a flexile society in the face of technological transformation, harnessing technology and data to solve development and management challenges

The conference brought together 200 participants from government institutions in the UAE and the region to highlight the impact of technology transformation on corporate governance and technology adaptation to create better communities for future generations.
