Egypt’s Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Hamdi Sanad Loza participated, on Tuesday, in the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council session which discussed the situation in Libya.
Loza confirmed Egypt’s ongoing support for Libya and its full potential in all fields.
He also welcomed the efforts of the Provisional Executive Authority to achieve stability and national reconciliation in Libya, including the establishment of the Supreme Commission of National Reconciliation.
Loza noted the importance of Africa’s role in ending the Libyan crisis, according to the will of the Libyan people and the decisions of the United Nations (UN).
This would ensure the security and unity of Libya, Loza said, and pointed to the seriousness of the interventions of some International and regional parties. He asserted the need for the complete removal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory.
