Egypt wins first place at 14th African Championships for Rhythmic Gymnastics

The Egyptian Rhythmic Gymnastics under-16 team won the top prize and achieved three golden medals at the 14th African Championships for Rhythmic Gymnastics that was held from 26-28 April, held in Egypt.

The team consists of six girls, Farida Nadir, Malak Sherif, Nermine Khaled, Salma Khaled, Farah Ihab, and Perihan Ayman. Under the training of Russian coach Alla Verrenova and Mayar Ragab, the team beat the South African and Angolan teams.

Taking place at the Cairo International Stadium, the championship brought together 25 players representing 14 African countries.

In the last competition, held in 2016 in Namibia, Egypt’s under-16 team won five gold medals, while Egyptian individuals won the first, second, third, and fourth places.
