Communications minister, Orange discuss investment future in Egypt

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser El-Kady and the new CEO of Orange Egypt, Yasser Shaker, discussed the company’s future plans in Egypt and further investments.

During the meeting, El-Kady stressed the importance of strengthening their partnership in light of the national strategy for digital transformation, which aims to make the sector one of the main pillars of economic and social growth in the country.

For his part, Shaker pointed to the development of the telecommunications sector and stressed the importance of the Egyptian market to Orange International, stressing that Orange Egypt is looking forward to partnering with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to achieve the desired digital transformation goals and implement the technical aspect of the national projects.

Orange Egypt’s board of directors appointed Shaker as managing director and CEO effective 1 May 2018, after Jean Marc Haryon, former CEO and managing director, announced his sudden resignation on Twitter.
