Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar revealed on Saturday, during his field visit to the Robiki Leather City, that the ministry has a plan to establish 22 industrial complexes by 2020.

Nassar explained that the state started these plans by building three complexes, as a first phase in Sadat City, Badr City, and Port Said governorate.

The minister explained that the Sadat City’s complex area is 300,000 sqm, the Badr City’s complex area covers 88,000 sqm, and Port Said governate’s complex area covers 180,000 sqm.

“The first phase aims to establish 500 licensed plants for small and medium industries (SMEs), which contributes to increasing the contribution of the SMEs sector in pushing the industrial development system, promoting economic growth, and providing more decent and productive job opportunities for youth,” Nassar stated.

For his part, Ahmed Abdel Razik, the chairperson of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), stated that Badr City’s industrial complex includes 87 units for food, engineering, and textile industries.

He added that the complex provides many advantages to investors, including access to all services in a flexible and fast way, in addition to the interaction and integration between the various industries existing in the complex.
