Tarek Fayed, Chairperson and CEO of Banque du Caire, announced that the bank is preparing a 200-bed quarantine building for coronavirus patients, in partnership with the Ahl Masr Foundation.

Fayed said that all the bank’s initiatives since the crisis began have been to support state and medical sector efforts tackling the coronavirus.

He also said that the quarantine building’s preparations support the Ministry of Health’s mission in curbing the spread of the virus. Fayed emphasised that cooperation with the Ahl Masr Foundation includes the bank’s providing all necessary protection to doctors and medical teams at hospitals to protect the first line of defence from the epidemic.

Following the crisis, Fayed said the building will be transformed into a hospital providing free treatment for accidents and burns.

Heba El Sewedy, founder and chairperson of Ahl Masr Foundation, said the efforts made in combating the coronavirus would not be implemented without everyone joining together to play their role.

She added that it is necessary for full cooperation to provide the necessary equipment for doctors, nursing staff and workers in their difficult mission to confront the virus in hospitals.
